The operational goal
Prepare the compatible player, agree what the trial should answer and record the observed outcome before recommending a paid term.
A record that supports the decision
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Preparation | Identify device/OS, player/build and intended account method. |
| Trial enquiry | Request the published one-day trial through the confirmed support route. |
| Reference set | Choose ordinary playback plus the customer’s essential programme/language requirements. |
| Observation | Use the intended device and connection, recording time and results. |
| Exceptions | Keep missing content, guide gaps and local player problems separate. |
| Decision | Resolve consequential limitations and billing terms before payment. |
Define success before the session
“Works” is too broad to guide a purchase. Ask whether the decisive requirement is a regional feed, a subtitle language, a particular remote workflow or stable viewing at the usual time. A small named reference set gives the customer a test they can actually repeat.
Avoid contaminating the comparison
Do not replace the player, network and source at the same time. The standard personal allowance is one active connection, so testing two devices simultaneously can introduce an unrelated limit. Record the actual app/build and account format for any follow-up.
Close with a factual result
Installation is not trial activation, and a trial enquiry does not promise an instant response. Record what was tested and what remains unknown. Do not turn one successful source into a permanent guarantee of every catalogue item, device or future event.
Worked situation
Illustrative case: the customer needs a particular language track. A picture-only test of another title cannot answer that requirement; inspect the intended title’s available tracks during the trial.
