Confirm that the sending app and receiver support the same casting route. Internet access on both devices does not prove that local discovery between them is available.
Identify the state you can actually observe
A native television app, a player’s cast button, system screen mirroring and AirPlay are different routes. A receiver appearing in one application does not guarantee that another application can send the same source or credentials to it.
Name both ends and the method
Record the sending device/app and receiving device. Identify whether the attempted action is casting a programme or mirroring the whole screen. Confirm the app actually provides that route.
Check the intended local network
Verify the supported network arrangement and any relevant app permission. Guest/client isolation can keep devices apart while each still reaches the internet. Do not disable router security broadly to test an unconfirmed app feature.
Separate discovery from playback
If the receiver appears, note whether connection succeeds and the programme then fails. That is no longer simply a missing-device problem. Compare a supported reference route without opening extra concurrent service sessions.
A worked comparison
A phone that mirrors its home screen but cannot cast a selected title has demonstrated one route, not every media-transfer method. A player with no cast control needs a capability check before router changes are useful.
Choose the applicable platform route
Use the native setup guide for the actual device. The links below identify platform context; they do not certify a particular player build on that hardware.
| Device or platform | Relevant next check |
|---|---|
| Google TV | Identify the sending/receiving method before changing network settings. |
| Chromecast with Google TV | Identify the sending/receiving method before changing network settings. |
| Apple TV | Identify the sending/receiving method before changing network settings. |
| Android phone | Identify the sending/receiving method before changing network settings. |
| iPhone | Identify the sending/receiving method before changing network settings. |
| iPad | Identify the sending/receiving method before changing network settings. |
Avoid an inconclusive reset
Do not label every discovery issue a service outage or assume an AirPlay-capable display guarantees the installed IPTV player can cast to it. Keep app permission, network reachability and supported media route separate.
What to include in a private report
Sender, receiver, app/build, cast versus mirroring, network arrangement, permission state and the stage that fails.
Send the report to Golden OTT. Omit passwords, complete private playlist URLs, activation keys and device identifiers from public captures.
